How do you sign up?
The best way to get started is to go to our Quick Start page. You can set up your group, invite members, even plan an event, all on one web page
How do I invite people to my group?
You can invite new members in three ways:
- From the Web Site: Go to Groups -> Invite Members
- Using Text Message: Use the invite command (see SMS commands at the top for more info)
- Using JOIN: Tell people to join your group using their cell phone. Al they need to do is text "join {your groupname}" to 74685 (see SMS commands at the top for more info)
How do I send a message to my group?
You can go to Messages page and send it from there. Or, you can send it by text message using the POST command
How do I plan an event?
Go to Events -> Add Event, and fill in the form. It's important to get a good address for the event. Your members will be using that to get their driving directions and maps.
After you've entered in your event data, you can choose to alert everyone in the group, and request an RSVP. If you're putting in a lot of events (like an entire season of soccer games), then you shouldn't send alerts for every one ( maybe just the first one).
Change the time and place of an event
When you click on Events, you'll see a summary of all your events for the group. After the event name you'll see "Edit" (if you're the organizer). Click on Edit and make any changes necessary. You can add a note if necessary telling your members the reason for the change. Also, you can alert (or re-alert) them of the change, and also request an RSVP.
How does RSVP work?
RSVP let's the organizer see who has responded to an event notice, and who still needs to be contacted. Members can see the status as well and can change their response if necessary.
To see RSVPs, just go to Events and look for "See Responses" under the event summary.
How do Polls work?
Polls lets you send up a question and up to five answers to members. Members can respond using the web site or with text messaging. To send a poll, go to Messages -> Polls, and click on "Post Poll"
How do Signups work?
Sign ups let you send 5 tasks or requests to the group. In addition, you can set a limit to how many people sign up for a particular task. Members can then volunteer for tasks, and if one already has enough volunteers, will be asked to make another selection.
To create a sign up, go to Messages -> Sign Ups and then click on "Post Sign Up"
How do I change my email, home address, etc.?
To change your account information, go to Profile -> Edit Profile
How do I get messages from everyone in the group
You'll need to change your message options. Go to Profile -> Options, and select "accept messages from any member"
Text messaging instead of email (and visa versa)?
You'll need to change your message options. Go to Profile -> Options, and select "phone", "email" or both if you like.
How do I change my password/PIN?
Go to Profile -> Change Password
Sign up for my group on my existing web site
You can generate some HTML code that you can insert in your own web site. Go to Groups -> Padpaw on your website
How do I get map and driving directions for events?
Make sure that your profile has your home address. Go to Profile to make sure.
